CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Tonya joined Hobbiton in 2000 as an administrator and activity facilitator. Through dedication and hard work, she has progressed to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Tonya holds qualifications as an Abseiling Supervisor, ARA Level 2 Facilitator, SA Host, and is certified in Water Safety and First Aid Level 3. She has also undergone extensive training in Reviewing and the Transfer of Learning techniques.

ADMINISTRATION & BOOKINGS

Nell has been part of the Hobbiton team for 13 years and currently oversees both the administration and maintenance departments. She is a certified SA Host and brings valuable experience to the organisation. Nell also has a First Aid level 3 qualification

FACILITATOR

Tobela began his journey at Hobbiton in 2010. He is a Qualified Abseiling Supervisor, ARA Level 2 Facilitator, and holds certifications in Water Safety and First Aid Level 3. He has also received training in Reviewing and Transfer of Learning techniques.

FACILITATOR

Xolani joined Hobbiton in 2012 after volunteering with Love Life and the Department of Sports. He is a Qualified Abseiling Supervisor, ARA Level 2 Facilitator, and CATHSSETA-certified Adventure Site Guide. He is also certified in Water Safety and First Aid Level 3, and has completed training in Reviewing and Transfer of Learning techniques.

FACILITATOR

Akhona joined Hobbiton in 2021 and has quickly achieved several qualifications, including Abseiling Supervisor, ARA Level 2 Facilitator, and CATHSSETA-certified Adventure Site Guide. She is also certified in Water Safety and First Aid Level 3, and has completed training in Reviewing and Transfer of Learning techniques.

Phindie has been with Hobbiton since 2000 and serves as our Senior Housekeeper and Caterer. She takes pride in maintaining clean, comfortable accommodation and enjoys preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our guests.

Caroline began her journey at Hobbiton as a Facilitator and, in 2002, transitioned to the Housekeeping and Catering team. Known for her friendly and attentive nature, she is committed to delivering a consistently high level of service.

Phumla joined the Housekeeping and Catering team in 2024. She is enthusiastic about her role and continues to grow in experience and confidence each day.

MAINTANENCE

John has served as our Maintenance Manager for an impressive 39 years, following in his father’s footsteps. His extensive knowledge and dedication are key to keeping our centre beautifully maintained and running smoothly.
