Hobbiton remains true to its core mission, initiated more than 75 years ago, to give less privileged children the chance to experience a holiday camp with outdoor adventure and to gain skills that could change their lives.
Hobbiton is registered with the Department of Social Development as a Non-Profit Organisation with Public Benefit status (107-254-NPO PBO 930044696) which allows us to issue certificates exempting donations from income tax.
Our work will continue only with the financial assistance of corporate and private donors. The income generated from commercial bookings assists with our overall running costs, but we require generous donors to support our sponsored camps.
The current full cost of one seven-day sponsored camp for 150 children during the school holidays is R120 500.
One new blanket for one dormitory bunkbed – R150 ($10.58/€ 8.76/£7.54)
